Refrigerator Repair in the Quad Cities

A refrigerator is the one appliance you cannot live without for a few days — every hour it is warm costs you groceries. Refrigerator calls go to the front of our schedule, and we handle everything from a frosted-over evaporator coil to a failed compressor start relay, on side-by-sides, French doors and top-freezers alike.

What this repair includes

Sound familiar?

These are the failures we see most often on this appliance — and what is usually behind them.

Fridge is warm, freezer is cold

The classic. A failed evaporator fan or a frosted-over coil blocking airflow between compartments.

Nothing is cold at all

Start relay, compressor or a sealed-system problem. We test before condemning anything expensive.

Water pooling inside or under

A frozen defrost drain line — a common, inexpensive repair that people often mistake for a dying fridge.

Ice maker not making ice

Water inlet valve, frozen fill tube or a failed ice maker module. We repair rather than replace where we can.

Running constantly

Dirty condenser coils, a stuck damper or a door gasket that no longer seals. Also the reason your power bill jumped.

Loud clicking every few minutes

A compressor trying to start and failing — usually the start relay. Call before the compressor itself goes.

Refrigerator Repair — questions we get a lot

My freezer is cold but the fridge is warm. What causes that?

In almost every modern refrigerator, cold air is made in the freezer and blown into the fridge compartment by an evaporator fan. If that fan fails, or if the evaporator coil frosts over and blocks the airflow, the freezer stays cold while the fridge slowly warms up. It is a very common repair and rarely means the refrigerator is finished.

How fast can you get to a refrigerator that has stopped cooling?

Refrigerators are our highest-priority call because you are losing food by the hour. Contact us during business hours and we will do everything we can to get you on the schedule the same day.

Do you repair built-in and counter-depth refrigerators?

Yes, including French door, side-by-side, counter-depth and built-in models.

Greg was recommended to me and they said if Greg can’t fix it you’ll probably have to buy new. He was prompt, honest about what was wrong, and completely professional. In my 57 years he is the most honest and personable repair man I have ever met.
