Working with us

What actually happens during a service call?

Short answer

We arrive inside the window, protect the floor on the way in, diagnose the actual fault, tell you what the repair costs, and start only once you have agreed. More than nine times out of ten it is finished on that visit.

Before we arrive

You get a time window rather than a whole day. If we are running late you get told, because a nine-to-five window that turns into a no-show is the thing people hate most about this trade and it costs nothing to avoid.

Clear access to the appliance helps, and so does having pets settled somewhere else. Someone over eighteen needs to be there to let us in and authorise the work.

While we are there

We diagnose before quoting. That means testing rather than guessing, and it is the part you are paying the diagnostic charge for. Then you get a price for the repair, and nothing starts until you say yes.

We protect floors and stair treads. In the older housing stock around Rock Island and Davenport that is not a courtesy, it is necessary — original hardwood does not forgive a dragged washer.

Before we leave

We test the repair, clean up, and take the old part and the packaging with us. You get told what failed and, where it is relevant, what would stop it happening again. Every repair is guaranteed.

Still not sure how this applies to your machine? Call and ask — we would rather answer a question over the phone than have you guess. We cover Rock Island, the Quad Cities and every community within 50 miles.

Short answers. Each one has a page of its own if you want the reasoning behind it.

Do you work with landlords and property managers?

Yes, regularly. Tell us who is authorising the repair and how to reach the tenant when you book, and we coordinate access and invoice the right party. The awkward part of rental work is communication, not the repair itself.

Are you licensed and insured?

We are fully insured, we work both sides of the river across Iowa and Illinois, and every repair we make is guaranteed. Save Your Appliance is family owned and owner-operated by Greg Albertson.

Do you work on my brand of appliance?

Almost certainly. We service every major residential brand, and the ones listed on our brands page are simply the ones we see most often. If yours is not listed, that means we see it less, not that we turn it away.

Do you charge extra to come out to a rural address?

No. There is no travel surcharge, mileage fee or zone pricing anywhere inside our 50-mile radius. A rural address in Henry or Cedar County pays exactly what an address in Moline pays.

Appliance down? Let’s get it fixed.

Same-day service in most cases across the Quad Cities and 50 miles around. Talk to a real technician, not a call center.

Greg was recommended to me and they said if Greg can’t fix it you’ll probably have to buy new. He was prompt, honest about what was wrong, and completely professional. In my 57 years he is the most honest and personable repair man I have ever met.
