Short answer
A repair breaks into two parts: a diagnostic charge for coming out and finding the actual fault, and then the repair itself, which is quoted before any work starts. You hear the diagnostic figure on the phone before you book, and nothing begins until you say yes.
Why we will not quote a repair over the phone
Anyone who quotes a firm repair price before seeing the machine is guessing, and the guess is usually low enough to get the booking and high enough to protect them once they arrive. We would rather tell you the diagnostic charge honestly and quote the repair once we know what is actually wrong.
The same symptom genuinely does come from different faults. A washer that will not spin might be a lid switch worth a few dollars, a worn drive belt, a failed motor coupler or a control board. Those are not close to each other in price, and no amount of description over the phone reliably separates them.
What moves the number
Parts availability matters more than brand prestige. Some manufacturers are cheap and quick to source from; others are slow, expensive, or have quietly discontinued the board you need. We will tell you which category yours falls into before you commit.
Access matters too, though less than people expect. A stacked laundry unit in a closet takes longer than the same machine standing in a basement. We do not charge extra for awkward spaces, but it is worth mentioning when you book so we allow the time.
What you will not get
No surprise line items, no charge for parts we did not fit, and no work started before you have agreed the price. If the repair turns out to cost more than the machine is worth, we tell you that instead of doing it.
Still not sure how this applies to your machine? Call and ask — we would rather answer a question over the phone than have you guess. We cover Rock Island, the Quad Cities and every community within 50 miles.
