Are you licensed and insured?

Short answer

We are fully insured, we work both sides of the river across Iowa and Illinois, and every repair we make is guaranteed. Save Your Appliance is family owned and owner-operated by Greg Albertson.

What being insured actually covers

It means that if something goes wrong in your home while we are working in it, you are not the one carrying that. It is the baseline question to ask anyone you let into your house with tools, and you should ask it of every trade, not just us.

Ask for it in writing if you want it. Anyone who hesitates at that question is telling you something.

Working across two states

Our shop is in Rock Island, Illinois, and a large part of our work is in Scott, Cedar, Clinton, Muscatine and Jackson counties in Iowa. Crossing the river is routine, not an exception, and Iowa customers get exactly the same coverage and the same guarantee as Illinois ones.

The guarantee

If something we repaired fails again, call us. That is the whole policy. A guarantee with enough conditions attached to make it unusable is not a guarantee, and we would rather just stand behind the work.

What actually happens during a service call?

We arrive inside the window, protect the floor on the way in, diagnose the actual fault, tell you what the repair costs, and start only once you have agreed. More than nine times out of ten it is finished on that visit.

Do you work with landlords and property managers?

Yes, regularly. Tell us who is authorising the repair and how to reach the tenant when you book, and we coordinate access and invoice the right party. The awkward part of rental work is communication, not the repair itself.

Do you work on my brand of appliance?

Almost certainly. We service every major residential brand, and the ones listed on our brands page are simply the ones we see most often. If yours is not listed, that means we see it less, not that we turn it away.

Do you charge extra to come out to a rural address?

No. There is no travel surcharge, mileage fee or zone pricing anywhere inside our 50-mile radius. A rural address in Henry or Cedar County pays exactly what an address in Moline pays.
